Sizing
Horse sizes; If your horse wears 6'0+ and is in between rug sizes, we recommend ordering the larger size of the two.
Cob / Pony sizes; These are a generous deep fit and true to size in terms of length.
With a double row of fastenings on both sides of the rug, the belly cover is adjustable to 3 levels - for optimum fit we recommend the elastic to be in light contact with your horses belly.

Rug Care
During regular use we recommend occasionally cleaning the inside of the rug at the chest, withers and along the mane. This is typically where grease builds up on the soft lining, restricting the hair from moving freely underneath. Wiping only with hot water, just once a month and allowing to dry can maintain comfort for your horse and reduce the chance of rubbing or hair loss.
Jet washing, strong detergent and fabric conditioner can damage the rug's waterproofing and breathability. To prolong durability we recommend only a cool wash once a year, or a professional service. MudRugs should be hung to drip dry only.
Having been a long time user of horsewear/shires and weather beeta brands I was cautious about ordering an unknown (to me) brand. What initially sold them to me was the belly covers which I felt would benefit my aging tb. I never usually wrote reviews but feel compelled to applaud this company on making these fantastic rugs. Every element of them is 100% fit for function, the snuggy spacious hood, generous shoulder pleats, enourmous tail flap which is the best design I have seen yet, the belly cover fits perfectly and keeps her belly warm and dry when having a lie down snooze in the field, its doesn't slip, its fully waterproof, and the rug material feels very good quality and very tough. My mare loves her rug and I'll definitely be replacing hers and the other horses rugs with these as time goes on.
My boys have several of these rugs. I always know they will be warm and cosy when the weather is bad, and they are much happier being turned out in a Mudrug.

The rug fits my 16.3hh Appaloosa as if it were made for him. However, the belly cover, which was large was too small and I had to order a further, XL one which covers his belly perfectly. The whole transaction was easy and I would not hesitate purchasing another if required.
As always the best rug’s ever. I’ve been buying mud rugs since the first started and I have every rug apart from the mist heaviest . I love that they have spare if a leg strap goes or you need a new belly cover and the best bit is when you are waiting for a new belly cover they always come with the belly straps so it’s brilliant if you want either or . The neck in the mud rugs has got plenty of room so you don’t get the main rub you can get from other brands . I won’t use any other turn out rug
